SeltaSquare announced on the 13th that it has been finally selected in the second round of the "2026 Healthcare AI Data Utilization Voucher Support Program," supervised by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and administered by the Korea Health Information Service.

Through this program, SeltaSquare will use medical data from Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, and Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital to conduct the research project "Development of AI Standard-Term Mapping and AESI (Adverse Event of Special Interest) Detection Technology for Pharmaceutical Companies and Healthcare Institutions, to Advance RMP-Based Real-World Data (RWD) Safety Analysis." The two parties signed an agreement on July 30 and have begun full-scale research.

RMP (Risk Management Plan) is a safety management framework for proactively managing post-marketing safety concerns. Differences in how pharmaceutical companies and healthcare institutions record safety terminology have meant that detecting AESIs within RWD has relied heavily on manual work. SeltaSquare plans to resolve this terminology mismatch between hospital clinical data and pharmaceutical safety information through AI standard-term mapping, and to verify mapping accuracy and AI detection performance using real-world data.

Building on its pharmacovigilance (PV) and life-science data management expertise, the company intends to progressively apply the AI standard-term mapping and AESI detection technology secured through this program to its own RWD analysis solutions, with the goal of establishing a standard model for AI transformation (AX).

Lee Hye-jung, Head of SeltaSquare's IE Strategy Division, said: "Standardizing safety terminology between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare institutions, and accurately detecting AESIs within large volumes of RWD, has been a long-standing challenge in RMP practice. This program gives us a real-world opportunity to shift a largely manual analysis process toward AI-based technology."

CEO Shin Min-kyung said: "We will drive AI transformation (AX) across pharmacovigilance and post-marketing clinical work — from safety data collection through signal detection to insight generation — and present a standard model that healthcare institutions and pharmaceutical companies can use."
