SeltaSquare (CEO: Shin Min-kyung), an AI-based pharmacovigilance specialist company, announced on the 24th that it has secured KRW 9.2 billion (approximately USD 6.7 million) in Series A funding. The investment round was participated in by KB Investment, Korea Investment Partners, Yuanta Investment, SJ Investment Partners, and Genaxis.

SeltaSquare provides AI-based full-lifecycle pharmacovigilance solutions, and is driving the digital transformation of domestic pharmaceutical companies — including Yuhan Corporation, Hanmi Pharmaceutical, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, and Kenvue — while contributing to improvements in the productivity and accuracy of pharmacovigilance operations.

SeltaSquare's flagship solutions include SELTA-WAVE (safety data entry automation), SELTA-LITUS (literature search automation), SELTA-OCTO (AI-based MedDRA coding), and SELTA-TUBE (analysis and table automation for product renewal). An upgraded version of SELTA-WAVE, reflecting extensive customer feedback, is scheduled for release in the first half of this year.

A SeltaSquare representative stated: "This investment reflects the broader trend of growing adoption of AI and digital solutions in the pharmaceutical and bio market. In particular, the rising demand for SaaS-based AI technology has led investors to place a high value on the company's technological capabilities and expertise."

SeltaSquare plans to deploy the funds raised in this round toward advancing its core technologies and building the infrastructure needed for global market expansion. In particular, the company intends to develop an integrated platform that enables AI and pharmaceutical experts to collaborate organically around safety data, and through this, lead the digital transformation of the broader pharmaceutical and bio industry — spanning pharmacovigilance, new drug development, and real-world data.

CEO Shin Min-kyung stated: "This investment once again demonstrates our technological strength and market competitiveness. We will accelerate our global market entry and continue to raise the bar for AI utilization in the pharmaceutical and bio sector."

A representative from one of the participating investors commented: "SeltaSquare's AI technology — proven within the industry — has brought innovative improvements to complex pharmacovigilance processes, achieving clear differentiation in the market. We placed particularly high value on the company's growth potential in the global pharmaceutical and bio market."
