We are pleased to share three key trends that stood out from a clinical and pharmacovigilance (PV) perspective.

1️⃣ National Integrated Bio Big Data —  A Strategic Shift in Data Infrastructure

Korea's national Bio Big Data Platform (BBP), integrating three core pillars — genomics, clinical data, and life-log data — is now moving into full-scale implementation. Beyond simple data accumulation, this initiative is establishing itself as a foundational infrastructure strategy for the transition toward AI-driven precision medicine and prevention-centered healthcare. Regulatory interest in secure, closed analytical environments and Explainable AI is also on the rise.

2️⃣ The Evolution of Medical AI — The Emergence of Agentic AI and Foundation Models

Moving beyond disease-specific AI, Multi-modal Foundation Models capable of integrating imaging, text, and EMR data — alongside Agentic AI systems that autonomously execute real-world tasks — are beginning to make their way into clinical settings. Within the PV domain, practical applications are becoming increasingly tangible, including automated detection of AESIs, signal detection, and literature search automation.

3️⃣ The Maturing Open Innovation Ecosystem — Where Technology Meets Data

In collaborations with global pharmaceutical companies, the completeness of a data package, regulatory readiness, reproducibility, and a well-structured clinical development roadmap are emerging as evaluation criteria of equal importance to the technology itself. We have entered an era where data standardization and traceability management from the earliest stages of research are decisive factors in successful commercialization.

SeltaSquare remains committed to continuously integrating the regulatory developments and technological trends identified at this year's event into our clinical and PV services. Detailed insights on each topic will be shared in our upcoming series of posts.
